Equal Opportunity Cell

Discrimination against any person on the grounds of his/her disability or physical limitations and minority status is a gross violation of universally accepted principles of equality and human rights, and even constitutional obligations. Equal Opportunity Cell was set up by the institution in June 2019, to address the issues concerning Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class and Persons with Disabilities.

The fundamental aim of the Equal Opportunity Cell is to ensure that students and faculties belonging to various diverse background of communities, religion, region, gender and abilities are not deprived of their basic opportunities. They all must have access to all the fundamental rights to promote inclusivity and harmony.

This cell organizes various activities to promote inclusive policies and practices for all and to look into the grievances to ensure equality and equal opportunities to the disadvantaged groups on campus through proper implementation of policies, skills, and programs of society.

Objectives of the EOC

(Equal Opportunity Cell)

To promote the equality among all, and eliminate the discrimination or harassment.

  • • Adopt and implement harmonized guidelines to create barriers and discrimination free environment on campus.
  • • Identify the issues in the campus and to provide an enabling and non-discriminative environment for all.
  • • To disseminate the information related to schemes, programs, notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Govt., related to welfare of targeted groups from time to time.
  • • Promote diversity and inclusive practice on campus and provide the underprivileged groups with adequate opportunities.
  • • Safeguard the interest of students without any prejudice to their caste, creed, religion, language, ethnicity, gender and disability.
  • • Create an atmosphere of equal opportunity through Awareness Generation Programmes.
  • • The cell will provide legal platform to address breach of fundamental rights in terms of opportunities on the basis of whatsoever.
