Royal Education Society

History

The Royal Education Society was founded in 1983 by the visionary educationist Dr. M.R. Patil, who continues to serve as its Chairman and Founder. Established to promote quality, accessible, and value-based education, the Society has emerged as a leading educational organization in the Marathwada region.

Although the Society was registered in 1983, its academic activities formally commenced in 2001 with the establishment of its first undergraduate institution. Since then, it has consistently expanded its academic and social footprint.

Establishment and Early Development (2001–2005)

The Society began its educational journey in 2001 with the establishment of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology (COCSIT). The college was affiliated with Swami Ramanand Teerth University, Nanded, marking a major milestone in higher technical education.

In its initial phase, the institution admitted approximately 220 students across three divisions. This period laid the foundation for academic excellence, institutional discipline, and student-centric learning.

In 2005, Society began COCSIT Junior College, strengthening the academic pipeline and enabling students to prepare effectively for higher education.

Expansion of Academic and Residential Facilities (2006–2010)

With increasing student enrollment and regional demand, the Society expanded its facilities and academic offerings. In 2010, a Girls’ Hostel capacity of 250 girls was established to provide safe, secure, and supportive residential accommodation for students from rural and distant areas, reinforcing the Society’s commitment to inclusive education.

Growth in School Education (2011–2020)

Recognizing the importance of holistic education from the foundational level, the Society diversified into school education.

In 2013, Sharada International School, a CBSE school, was established, offering education from primary to senior secondary levels.

In 2020, Sharda Semi-English School was established, promoting bilingual learning and enhancing accessibility for students from diverse backgrounds.

These initiatives enabled the Society to provide continuous and integrated education from school to postgraduate levels.

Advancement in Professional and Technical Education (2021–Present)

To align with emerging industry and professional requirements, the Society established the Royal Institute of Technical Education (RITE) in 2024, focusing on higher education and professional courses.

Currently, the Society offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Science, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Computer Applications, Management and allied disciplines.

Infrastructure and Campus Development

The Society operates from a centrally located campus in Latur, Maharashtra. Over the years, it has developed modern academic and residential infrastructure spread across approximately 1.5 acres.

The campus includes well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, administrative offices, and student support facilities, creating a conducive environment for learning and innovation.

Student Growth and Institutional Impact

From its modest beginning with 220 students, the Royal Education Society has grown into a multi-institutional educational network serving more than 6,550 students across all its units today. The student strength continues to increase steadily, reflecting community trust and academic credibility.

Through its five major institutions, residential facilities, and industry-oriented initiatives, the Society has positively impacted thousands of students, particularly from rural and economically weaker sections.

Centre for Career Development and Employability (CCDE)

The Training and Placement Wing of Royal Education Society is a core strength of the institution, supported by a dedicated team of experts and industry specialists who conduct year-long training programs for student development and employability. With strong backing from an alumni network of over 10,000 professionals in the IT sector, the wing provides valuable mentoring and placement support. Through these continuous efforts, the institution consistently achieves an average placement of around 300 students every year, reflecting its commitment to career-oriented education and professional excellence

For over three decades, the Royal Education Society has remained dedicated to academic excellence, social inclusion, skill development, and ethical values. Its emphasis on holistic development, employability, and community upliftment aligns closely with national education and development goals.

By nurturing responsible citizens, skilled professionals, and future leaders, the Society continues to contribute meaningfully to regional and national progress.

Dr. M. R. Patil established COCSIT in 2001 at Padile Complex, Ambajogai Road, Latur. Initially college started with only 2 UG programmes namely BCA & BCS & and 2 PG programs namely MCM and MCS with a strength of 185. In 2025 College has 12 UG and 7 PG Career oriented programs with strength 4089. COCSIT has proven track record of Placement in IT and BT Industry. In last 25 years around 4000 students got placed in Campus and off Campus through the initiation of visionary leader Dr. M. R. Patil in various IT Industries.
